Welcome to our May conversation via e-news. This month we have two different but equally stimulating and thought provoking articles from you guys out there in the field. Zara reflects on her work in Melbourne and the issue of sexual health among newly arrived young people. Catriona describes her service’s innovative model in the ACT. And we talk reporting, language and self care. We also hear from FaCSIA about the upcoming Reconnect Good Practice Forums and from our new representative on the National Action Research Committee: Al Hines about this important role.

This issue of NAYSS e-news features reports from NAYSS teams in Darwin, Salisbury and Shepperton/Cobram. The team at the Melaleuca Refugee Centre in Darwin reflect on some of the work they have been doing in schools and talk about the progress made on their two Action Research projects. The NAYSS team in Salisbury in Brisbane's South West reflect on the principals and practices around supporting various stakeholders involved in assisting newly arrived young people entering into the workforce. We also hear from the NAYSS team at Uniting Care-Cutting Edge in Shepperton and Cobram, who talk about their many programs and projects. Finally, we have a Case Study focusing on the need for cultural understanding when seeking emergency accommodation for CLD clients.
